Day at the Docks was started to celebrate the “Spirit of Hatteras” when the village recovered from Hurricane Isabel in 2003.  This September event is a confirmation of the strength of the community, heritage, and living traditions of the watermen. This two-day festival includes activities for the whole family! With a variety of demonstrations, competitions, entertainment, food activities, and the traditional Blessing of the Fleet, you’ll get a real taste of the island’s roots and what the “Spirit of Hatteras” is all about.

NC Oyster Trail will be giving a presentation at 12:15 PM under the Main Festival Tent, by the Breakwater Inn. Learn about North Carolina’s oyster industry and farms, and grab some exclusive Trail swag.
