SUMMARY:Beaufort OysterFest
DESCRIPTION:The first annual Beaufort Oyster Fest will be held at the Harvey W. Smith Boathouse on Front Street in downtown Beaufort\, North Carolina\, showcasing 10 different farm-raised oyster varieties sourced exclusively from Carteret County! These oysters will be paired with some fantastic wines and local Fishtowne craft beers\, as well as live music from The Spread! Each guest will be given a menu with suggested pairings and flavor notes for each oyster of the evening so you have the best experience possible\, and the oysters will be shucked by the farmers themselves who are happy to answer any questions. Our goal is for everybody to learn more about oysters\, what they do\, and how they end up tasting so good and so different. This year\, we are raising money for our local North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort\, but we will choose a new recipient in our county each year. The event celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and continues as a confirmation of the strength…” \n\n\n\nThe event launches on Friday evening with the decadent and five-course “Seafood Under the Stars” dinner. Tickets are now on sale for this traditionally sold-out event\, and there are only 120 seats available. To make a reservation\, refer to the flier below\, or visit https://form.jotform.com/221686054228154/. \n\n\n\nOne of the most popular annual DATD events\, the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation’s (HICF) Chowder Cook-off\, is returning once again for 2024 on Saturday\, September 14\, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. During this highly competitive contest\, where bragging rights will last all year long\, various island restaurants will gather and fight for the title of the 2024 HICF Best Chowder. The tasting fee is $10\, and tasters will serve as the all-important judges\, sampling the entries and voting for their favorites. DESCRIPTION:Ocean Fest was founded in 2019 by three surfing buddies who can usually be found riding the waves of Surf City\, NC. The motivation behind the event was to share our love for the ocean\, celebrate the pure joy of surfing\, and\, most importantly\, give something meaningful back to Mother Ocean.
